🏆 THE 2026 MELBOURNE CUP

Assessed Prices, Comments and Betting Recommendations

Firstly, my apologies that Inside Running has been quiet over the past couple of months, including during the Spring Carnival. A mix of time pressures, development projects and other commitments has kept me away from the newsletter longer than I’d planned. I intend to get it back up and running soon, but in the meantime, I wanted to share my detailed Melbourne Cup preview with you.

The preview includes a tactical speed map and assessed prices, along with detailed comments on every runner. Click the plus sign next to each horse’s rank to expand their comments. You’ll also find a race summary, betting recommendation and exotic combinations.

Click the link below to download the preview, which should open in your browser. If it doesn’t open automatically, check your downloads folder.

I’ve also included a link below to a recent article I wrote on AI in horse racing, sharing what I’ve learned from using it almost daily over the past three years. It covers where I see the real opportunities, why your own thinking still matters and a few traps to watch for. If you’re interested in using AI in your racing analysis, I hope you’ll find it useful.
